I started my university career in 1969 and qualified as an architect at the close of 1976. In 1977, I embarked on the professional career journey as architect in training (professional registration in 1979). Jeanne and I got married in December of the same year. We are happily married and have three sons and two grandsons.
1980 – director of vHHA – multi-discipline practice.
2002 full-time consultant to Group Five Building until the company’s demise in 2019.
My email address, tack.arch@gmail.com stands for: ta = tekton archos (greek for first builder/architect), ck=carlkuschke and arch=architect. Now ‘tack’ is also a sailing term for sailing upwind – which is how we deal with the challenges of our life journey. Fit, strong and healthy en ‘n goeie sin vir humor. Ek doen baie leerwerk, houtwerk, bou karre en trailers en ry 4×4-roetes. Ek en Jeanne het ‘n leerwerk-onderneming genaamd Kumi-Ori wat beteken ‘rise and shine’ in Hebreeus (also Ku 1st section of surname and Or which is ‘leather’ in Hebrew).
Ek geniet goeie ontwerpe van glas en staal, landrovers, seiljagte en vliegtuie. Ek kamp, jag en lees baie en doen ook nog vryhandtekene met alle media van koffie tot rooiwyn.
In 2020 het ons Johannesburg vir George verruil, waar ek myself besig hou met meubels maak en argitekwerk.
