Charl (Charlie) Claassens

My hoërskooljare by Grey was goeie tye.  I do not believe that my rugby team had a name other than “Die Vyfdes”, but do recall enjoyable games against Tralies and Saints.

I’m married to Helét and we have three great kids. Michelle is an architect in Cape Town; Philip, a civil/environmental engineer, recently moved to New Zealand; and Louw, the youngest daughter, is a marine biologist in Knysna working on the sea horses.  A bonus daughter, Kuscke, was added when my brother passed away.  She is in the beauty business.  We are blessed with four granddaughters.

At an early age, I realised that my natural state was holiday and work a necessity to finance it.  When possible, we are either at Glentana or somewhere in the bush. Something special was climbing Kilimanjaro in 2005 along the western breach route.
