After school, I joined The Friend newspaper for six years. In 1975, I moved to the Natal Mercury, where I stayed for three years.
In 1978, I moved to The Rand Daily Mail in Johannesburg and left to join the PR company Errol Fife for three years. I joined The Star in 1983, where I won the SAB sports photographer of the year award in 2002 and sport photographer and journalist of the year award in 2007.
I retired in 2014 due to ill health.
